2010 KCSE results

Prof. Sam Ongeri on the morning of Feb 28 2011 announced the results of KCSE 2010 noting an almost perfect gender balance in most provinces except the likes of North Eastern province where the balance tilted in favour of male students. The lowest rate of exam irregularities, involving 534 candidates, in the last five years was also note.

The top student overall was male; Mr. Wandui Albert Kamau from Moi High School, Kabarak. The top female student was Ms. Mangacha Katili Lydia from the Kenya High School.

Also notable:

Alliance High school (Bush) produced 9/10 top students in Central province.

The Kenya High School produced 50% of top female students and top students in Nairobi province.

Moi High School, Kabarak produced most top students in Rift Valley by any single school.

There were no girls in the top ten student list of Nyanza and North Eastern province.

Top students of North Eastern province would not have featured in the top ten list of any othe province.

3. Bahati Girls
4. Maranda High School
5. Alliance Girls High School (Bush Babes)
6. Moi High School, Kabarak
7. Moi Girls, Eldoret
8. The Kenya High School
9. Starehe Girls Centre
10. Srathmore School

Alliannce High School's performance is nothing but impeccable leading no. 2 by a clear .2 difference.
Starehe Boys Center a well known academic giant failed to  be in the top 10 as usually expected and were even surpassed by heir sister school,Starehe girls.
