A Tribute to all Barclays Premiere League Fans WorldWide

Football is the most popular sport in the world and it is such a unifying sport that it transcends cultures, nationalities and breaks all berries geographical, language and even economic.

The Barclays Premier League which showcases English Premier league football is by far the most popular in the world with most of the teams in the league commanding millions of faithful fans across the globe.

It is in recognition of these fans outside of England and the UK that this video was made. To add to it Kenya is among the countries representing the African continent in the video and it is Arsenal fans featured.

The only problem is the  ridiculous stereotype where the African wakes up at the crack of dawn and travels many kilometres via bus to go watch the match in an overcrowded pub!And they arrive there at night! Damn European Stereotypes bet they don't think we can afford let alone have cable and satellite TV.

EUROPA LEAGUE 2012 FINAL

After a pulsating 90 minutes of clinical football, Atlético Madrid emerged victors over Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League final at Bucharest which was an all Spanish affair. Football finals are sometimes notorious for their lack of competitive football but this was a match like no other. The first goal came in the 7th minute and it set up the momentum of the game with Athleic Madrid controlling the game.

 The Radamel Falcao goal was a superb beauty as he curled it it from the edge of the Bilbao box. The Bilbao players seemed shell shocked henceforth and they were completely overrun by their more illustrious counterparts for most of the first half. Athletic Bilbao begun to fight back towards the end of the first half but were again dealt a blow by the brilliant Falcao who sent two defenders the wrong way after collecting a cross in the 6 yard box slotted his second of the game in the 34th minute after a brilliant display of trickery and composure.
If not to make things worse for Athletic Bilbao,they had several close chances that were excellently saved by the inform Athletic Madrid keeper Thibaut Courtois.

 The second half saw Athletic Bilbao start off fiery with Muniain missing out on an early chance to pull one back soon after the game had started. In a very entertaining 2nd half both teams came close to scoring but it was Athletic Madrid's tactical drilling that shone through as they managed to disorganize their opponents play several times and ward off their ever increasing attacks. After several failed attempts by Bilbao, a counter attack allowed Diego to score a well placed shot in the 85th minute that settled the game. Athletic Bilbao fought a bit but final score was 3-0 and Athletico Madrid were crowned Europa League champions .

Radamel Falcao stood out in the game with a marvelous display and he won the competitions golden boot with 12 goals and also made history by having won the cup twice in two consecutive seasons with different clubs.
This was a  brilliant final that will go down as one of  the favorites in the history of the competition.

The Return of The English Premier League

Having taken a break for 2 or so months the greatest drama series on earth is back. The English Premier League started off last weekend with some pomp as newcomers were shown a baptism of fire, West Brom being beaten 2-1 by Man U, QPR thrashed 4-0 by Bolton (lucky devils) and so was Swansea by Man City. They definitely received a warm welcome from being promoted from the championship.  


Debutants making headlines were the likes of Gervinho (Arsenal) being red carded, Sergio Aguero ( Man City) scoring a brace and giving an assist and Chelsea Manager Villas Boas starting off with a nil - nil draw against an impressive Stoke City. Being a Man U fan I cant help but be biased and complement new signing Ashley Young, academy products Tom Cleverly and Danny Welbeck for making impressive starts in this years campaign and we hope to see more of them, as for Degea, he just needs EPL experience to build his confidence. Man U man to watch out for this season, Anderson#8 and Ashley Young#18 As he weeks progress we are bound to see more exciting matches and emphatic score-lines. 


The weekend also saw the end of the longest,grueling and ultimately cat and mouse transfer sagas in football history. Cesc Fabregas joined his boy hood club,FC Barcelona, for 30 million Euros plus some other clauses in a 5 year deal. Phew!! Really glad it's all over as it was becoming a big bore every season since it was a matter of when and not if.  


Back home in the Kenya premier League, Gor Mahia FC recorded an unfair draw with robbed team Sher Karuturi who have every right to be aggrieved as the added time was extended from 6 minutes to 9. Gor's equalizer was however a true beauty of a goal in a game which they were headed for a direct loss. It will be interesting to see how K'ogalo handle their next games and if the referees assistance will be in force.
