ASATIRA, the goddess of peace Kenya's 1st Sci-Fi Film in the running for the Sony Production Awards

Kenyan sci-fi sounds far fetched but wait till you watch this trailer and you will know Kenyan production is headed to greater heights.

Here is the backstory of the 1st Kenyan Sci-fi film;

#Asatira, the goddess of peace "ASATIRA (The goddess of Peace) is a story of a heroine called Asatira who at the age of seven survives the jaws of death during the 1992 Kenya’s post-election clashes in the Rift Valley where she witnessed the death of her family in the hands of bandits hired to kill her family. They are given poison and Asatira survives only to mutate and gets super human abilities. As she grows up she realizes her abilities and through this she uses the powers to get to find her family’s killers and help protect the oppressed that undergo the same events she went through. The story gets better when she comes and learns that the killings occur after every election and the people behind the killings are top government officials running a secret cult used to gain power by oppressing the normal Kenyan citizen. Asatira’s quest begins during the 2007 post-election violence after Kenya’s President Mwai Kibaki is sworn in and Kenya goes into a blood bath of war between ethnic communities. With her powers, flying around Kenya, she comes across many hurdles and fights her way through to the top with the help of her joined forces of other super heroes with the same goal. Her main quest is to make sure that Kenya does not elect a bad leader and does not go through the same ordeal during the 2013 elections. Asatira in the end becomes the leader that Kenya needed."
